Procurement Manager, Americas | 2012 to 2020 Managed $XXXM+ in raw material spend (chemicals and pigments) in support of 2 North American plants. Led Category management as a core member of the corporate Global Procurement team. • Consistently achieved 2.5%+ annual savings (YOY) by negotiating favorable and multi-year agreements, and actively seeking alternate sourcing. • Developed a strategic plan, in response to introduction of Chinese tariffs and supply limitations due to COVID 19, minimizing supply chain interruption and avoiding cost increases by moving to suppliers in other regions. • Ensured continuity of materials supply by allocating agreements among suppliers and by creating a supplier hierarchy. Purchasing Manager, Pharma and Personal Care Purchased $90M of raw material purchasing (pharmaceuticals and chemicals), consisting of 3,500 catalogue items. Led global sourcing and management of the purchasing department staff for the corporation. • Achieved annual cost reduction of 10% within first year by using Lean practices to improve the supply chain process, analyzing inventory turn to optimize FIFO and reducing carrying costs and disposal. • Managed product inventories (3,500 SKUs), forecasts and KPI analyses, including Dead and Slow Inventory (DSI). Calculated demand variability and inventory replenishment levels, while reducing excess inventory levels. • Led contract negotiations for all purchases, including purchase price, payment terms, contract duration, lead time, packaging, labeling requirements, delivery, and quality requirements. • Developed sourcing strategies based on market trends as it related to cost drivers. Vetted and evaluated International and Domestic suppliers, negotiated payment and pricing, and transportation logistics. • Monitored and maintained inventory levels for 450 products. Established Economic Order Quotients (EOQ), and reorder points based on historical sales data. • Supported R&D (e.g., Product Development), Sales, and Planning to fulfill customer requirements, including obtaining raw material samples, specifications, and technical data. • Resolved quality, receiving and invoicing issues. • Led project team to achieve Customs–Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification.
