Member of the steering committee that spearheaded the review of strategy for the association and established a joint international conference.

Led major digital and research infrastructure initiatives, including reviving a data management program, launching a large-scale internship scheme, delivering AI and cloud projects, securing significant funding and cost savings, and earning recognition. Revived WEHI’s RDM program, securing stakeholder buy-in on a $1.9M digital transformation and wrote the RDM whitepaper that reviewed RDM in international and national organisations. Established WEHI's postgraduate internship program across HPC, AI/ML, data analytics, and data engineering projects for over 200 interns and 80 multidisciplinary teams, saving $1.1M. Won the 2024 Kellaway Excellence Award for Education for the internship program.

Founded Practical Diversity and Inclusion a free, practical, online set of resources for improving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for organisations that want to make DEI efforts more effective and efficient. Designed an inclusive global recruitment campaign for a UK tech not-for-profit (NFP) that attracted 120+ diverse applicants that was re-used by a South American NFP with similar results. Increased cultural diversity in hiring by forming diverse interview panels, resulting in 44% of initial hires from culturally and intersectionally marginalised groups. Applied key framework to form international grassroots committee with two gender- and culturally diverse co-chairs despite 91% male community.

I co-designed strategy and managed the operations of an academic leadership team of the $100 million Petascale Campus Initiative (PCI) and stablished the $9M multidisciplinary Melbourne Data Analytics Platform to provide organisation wide services and raise capability in AI/ML, data analytics, and data engineering. Secured $6M in internal and external funding through successful grant proposals and cross-department alignment for ongoing software projects. Administered and forecasted $34M budget; providing reporting and operational governance. Served as secretary to two university-wide data transformation boards, facilitating strategic alignment and decision-making.

FAVeR supports Victorian universities to make best use of their information and communication technologies, capabilities and capacity to transform research efforts. Through collaborative endeavours, FAVeR also identifies and advocates for future strategic investment to grow eResearch capabilities within Victoria. My role as a board member was to provide strategic and stakeholder management advice on how to engage with researchers across all Victorian Universities as the University of Melbourne representative.

SCIP is a unit with staff who specialise in supporting digital methods for researchers in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Science. Since 2015 the SCIP team has supported a broad range of digital research activities–from researcher consultations and workshops, through to partnering on local and national research projects. My role as a board member was to provide strategic advice and suggestions on how to maximise opportunities across and beyond the University of Melbourne to help grow and sustain SCIP.

Role was an extension of the previous Nectar Community Manager role. This was a part-time role of 1 day per week. Brought together and built the national Research Software Engineering (RSE) community and established the first RSE steering committee that was culturally and gender diverse. Planned, organised and chaired seven workshops and face to face meetups in different states that culminated in the very first national RSE mini-conference in October 2019.

I led a multidisciplinary team and large-scale national and international projects in AI/ML, data analytics, and data engineering that managed the world's biggest stem cell dataset platform and supported 5,000+ end users across global projects. Delivered $52 in efficiency for every $1 invested in the platform with a $3.94M budget. Led a remote multidisciplinary team of 8 working on HPC, AI/ML, data analytics, and data engineering to build a world-class visual analytics tool used internationally. Delivered a remote $2M national flagship project across a multidisciplinary team of 6 groups and 5 facilities, resulting in a series of valuable datasets widely used by researchers. Collaborated on the remote multi-million dollar Project Grandiose across 9 labs and 5 countries resulting in high-impact journals that garnered widespread media coverage. Provided strategic oversight for the $275K institutional mini-HPC project, ensuring stakeholder needs were represented and reviewing procurement and vendor selection processes. Oversaw the data engineering pipeline run on HPC and provided other advice on AI/ML paper using supervised learning to identify different types of cells. Managed the world's biggest stem cell dataset platform and supported 5,000+ end users across global projects.

Went from a multi-disciplinary role and having very little formal experience in PHP/MySQL to being a very productive programmer. CMS based www.gugcstudentguild.com.au using CakePHP and jQuery with mostly Ajax calls to MySQL. Included dynamic menus and teams / clubs / picture gallery functionality. CMS based www.gourmetgarden.com using CakePHP and jQuery with MS-SQL. Included multi-lingual translations and data slicing by locale. International website. Requirement gathering and building e-health web functionality to automate the manual recall process for multiple sites using PHP created PDF letters. Implemented using CodeIgniter framework. Number of integration projects including Campaign Monitor for e-Marketing, Paypal and Microsoft Exchange 2003. Profiling PHP via Xdebug. Basic work with Word XML files.
