My 5 years at this establishment have provided me with a strong work ethic to transfer into all other aspects of my life. The role involved work in both drinks service behind the bar and food service in the restaurant area. It helped me hone my excellent interpersonal skills through my customer service and work with other employees.

Over this period I worked two separate weekend events at the private lounge of the British Racing Driver’s Club at Silverstone. My duties included both working behind the bar and at the food tills. I was able to develop my interpersonal skills whilst working in an exceptionally busy environment, with very varied clientele.

During my time at this establishment (the ‘sister’ restaurant of the Woodcock) I was involved in drinks service behind the bar and work in the restaurant serving food. My work here was carried out on an ad-hoc basis.

* Part of a team of 2 full-time staff who run the Guild of Students Volunteering program as part of the Jobs, Skills and Volunteering Department. * Role has a focus on external community based activity, with the other staff role focusing on internal Guild based volunteering. * Oversees a team of student staff responsible for supporting the department and administration of Guild Volunteering * Responsible for sourcing new volunteer projects for students, working alongside community groups and facilitating the development of existing projects and stakeholder relationships, whilst overseeing the 2000 volunteers within the external volunteering service. * Oversees and organises volunteer recruitment fairs, attended by over 6000 students annually. * Support in the planning and organising student recognition events for over 400 students. * Oversees and supports the Guild of Student's Carnival RAG fundraising group in their roles and activity.

* A Board Member for Loughborough Students' Union. * Involved in making critical decisions which impact upon over 16,000 students and administering a budget of nearly £10 million. * Additionally a member of the Board's performance management committee, which evaluates the performance of all staff across the institution.

During the holiday periods I work behind the bar at The Vineyard. A gastro pub which is part of a very successful chain of six run by Elite Pubs. I also help out in the restaurant when necessary and with the letting rooms. I am used to dealing with a variety of clients and as a result have developed my communication skills during my time there.

* Manger of the Student Opportunities department, directly line managing 5 members of staff. * Responsible for the implementation union and departmental strategy through sport, societies, volunteering media. As well as management of staff development, and staff objectives and KPIs, in line with organisational strategic objectives. * Oversees the support and training of over 500 volunteers, through our annual training conference, online training programme and additional one off opportunities. * Responsible for overseeing student group and departmental risk management, including implementation of health and safety policy. * Understanding the Government's Prevent agenda and its implementation in Higher Education institutions. * Developing staff and volunteer user manuals for union processes and policies, such as use of finance systems, event management and promotion. * Ensuring effective reporting of volunteer impact, project reports, departmental KPIs and other necessary developments to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

A member of staff at the food and drink establishments within the union: Starbucks and a Cafe. - Also working various large and small scale functions helping prepare the food and serve this to tables.

Responsibilities include service of drinks both in the 'pub' environment and night club. - Also working at various events at the union including awards ceremony and balls, including table service and catering in addition to drinks service.

I travelled to Puerto Vallarata, Mexico to volunteer with the charity 'The Seaver Foundation' for four weeks at four separate non-profit projects: A children's refuge, a street project, a children's summer sports club and a disability day care centre . All four projects support children who have been abandoned, abused or orphaned. Many have traumatic pasts and suffer disabilities, social and behavioural difficulties. My main base was the day care centre where I helped provide physiotherapy and massage as well as running various activities such as decorating canvas bags and music and dance. I was involved in conducting child centred evaluations at the orphanage. This asks the children their opinions on the volunteer experience using basic psychological testing, as well as observing the children during activities or play.

I was the Deputy Head student, in addition to being heavily involved in the theatre sector of the school. I also completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and am currently working towards my Gold. Activities and Societies: Drama, Choir, Deputy Head Student, Prefect, Student Mentor, Volunteering

I was heavily involved in the volunteering sector of the university participating in various projects, as well being a member of the committee (I was in charge of organising the hall volunteering representatives) and running the Soup Kitchen. I was also the volunteering and environmental issues representative for my hall. I was a member of both the Cheerleading and Dance teams, in addition to taking part in the Stage. I was also the secretary on the Societies' committee. I have studied a wide range of areas of psychology during my degree.
