* VaxiRNA program/Lead Development Group * Played key role in showing increased Influenza virus production in an MDCK cell based system using siRNA to knock down specific anti-viral response genes. My work on this program played an important role in the signing of a multi-million dollar partnership with GSK. * Executed and optimized multiple viral and mRNA quantitation assays. * Developed methods for high throughput siRNA screening including transfection, RNA purification and qPCR using automated liquid handling system.

* in the Protein Design Group * Established and evaluated yeast display system to be implemented into the pipeline for screening therapeutic proteins. * Evaluated display level and target binding of proteins expressed on yeast cell surface through FACS analysis by cell labeling and sorting to screen thermostable clones. * Cloned sequences based on high stability and binding into an E.coli based system for expression and characterization.

* Vaccines for tumors * Performed experiments aimed at developing anti-tumor vaccines based on anti-hypoxia therapy for T cell activation. * Animal handling including testing experimental molecules and measuring tumor growth. * In vitro analysis of cytokine levels in mice serum samples by ELISA.

* Cytogenetic Studies and Genetic Counseling * Responsible for harvesting and Giemsa staining analysis of patient peripheral blood samples. * Karyotyped chromosomes and performed microscopic analysis to detect presence of chromosomal abnormalities. * Counseled patients on specific diseases and their implications.

* Identified lead candidates currently in pre-clinical studies. * Planned and carried out in depth evaluation of all potential hits with dose response and time-course experiments in patient derived fibroblasts and non-human primate fibroblasts. * Optimized and conducted high throughput oligonucleotide screens in different mammalian cell models using lipid based transfections and gymnotic delivery. * Optimized screening assays for mRNA readout by qPCR and protein readout by ELISA. * Developed and optimized PCR based assays to identify differentially spliced SMN transcripts. * Established western blot protocol to verify up-regulation of the protein of interest. * Responsible for data generation, individual interpretation of results, evaluation of data and presentation at company meetings. * Managed my time and experimental design with minimal supervision
