Provides specialized education, training, and technical coordination within an area of critical health-related or associated educational concern to professional provider groups personnel and/or community programs. Assesses needs, designs, and develops informational material, and/or special programs to meet community needs. Provides independent consultation and advice to professional health care providers/educators on specific requirements, and on education methods and techniques within an area of professional specialty.

Develops, plans, and manages all school/unit program(s) or project(s) activities. Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program. Provides direction and guidance on Center activities and grants. Consults with the Center Director, the Chair of Health Promotion and Behavioral Science department, and the Center Administrator, on research and evaluation projects. Stays abreast of new and updated protocols and policies and develops, implements, and manages internal policies and procedures. Manages compliance and ensures the department follows internal and external rules, regulations, and standards. Oversees inspections and/or reviews and provides the appropriate personnel have the necessary credentials and licensing. Manages/maintains annual project budget, negotiates service contracts, progress reports, and authorizes expenditures. Provides guidance to upper management, keeps them informed of key activities, and makes periodic progress reports. Manages partnerships with internal departments for strategy and collaborative opportunities with a range of community and healthcare partners. Prepares progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies. Works closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on submitting grants. Interacts with state, federal, and private agency representatives regarding proposals and funded projects. Communicates with the community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings. Manages Human Resources activities for the direct report regarding recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
