Roopa Gandhi founded GEP with the dream of building a beautiful company – a place that touches employees, clients, and communities positively and sustainably. She is dedicated to eliminating food insecurity and passionate about supporting women – from ensuring education and health care to creating an organization that attracts, supports, and advances women in the workplace. As part of its CSR efforts, GEP supports global causes for alleviation of hunger, elimination of child labor, delivering education to underprivileged communities, and promoting diversity, equality and inclusion at the workplace. The company is also committed to building a sustainable future for our planet and its inhabitants by supporting environmental initiatives, and programs to improve healthcare and sanitation in underdeveloped parts of the world. As President and Founder of GEP, Roopa helps lead a rapidly growing global enterprise that provides procurement and supply chain solutions to several Fortune 500 clients worldwide. Roopa has shown, by example, that gender is not a differentiator when it comes to capabilities. She believes that women can and should be provided with the right opportunities and a conducive environment to realize their potential in all spheres of life. She is a mentor, a leader with a purpose, and a forerunner for women's empowerment and entrepreneurship. Roopa actively supports several not-for-profit organizations working for women's education, upliftment, and guidance. She is an advocate of positive workplace culture and holistic wellbeing. Roopa is on the board of trustees for the Akshay Patra Foundation, USA. She is also on the external advisory board of Johns Hopkins Gupta-Klinsky India Institute. Roopa earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, an M.S. with highest honors in Industrial Pharmacy from Long Island University, and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Mumbai University.
