I am privileged to be involved in this project that began in November of 2025. The Circular Bioeconomy Alliance, founded by King Charles III in 2022, is a diverse global coalition. It unites stakeholders to accelerate a fundamental shift: building an economy that is not only sustained by nature but is designed to actively restore and thrive alongside it. The project in Ladakh, India is a collaboration between the CBA and Bruno Cuccinelli, often described as a ‘philosopher designer’ and best known for his concept of humanistic capitalism. The first project phase involved a complete analysis of the pashmina fibre value chain in Ladakh. The insights from this report have led to a follow-on extension. This next phase is dedicated to operationalizing the recommendations, primarily through collaborative work in the Changthang region with local partners and stakeholders to improve pashmina fibre quality and yield.

Engaged as Cashmere and Wool Processing Expert for the USAID Afghanistan Competitiveness of Export-Oriented Business activity project to increase the value and volume of Afghan cashmere and wool exports through improved breeding, pasture management, and adopting best practices in animal welfare and increasing and improving value added processing

Undertake critical analyses of the cashmere value chains to identify actors, constraints,opportunities and weaknesses that can inform activities for improving the value chain.

Feasibility study for the proposed project, Economic integration of rural communities in Cashmere and Silk value chains in Balkh province, Afghanistan

Skills for Employment Project, aimed to enhance the responsiveness of the Technical and Vocational training systems to labor market demands in the priority sectors.

Review and recommendation of projects for local processors in natural fibre manufacturing, including overseeing installation and commissioning and providing training to local staff.
