Currently working on the implementation and testing of the www.abair.ie Irish Language speech synthesiser with the NVDA screen reader. This system will provide high-quality Irish language synthesis, based on a native Irish speaker. The system will enable people with a vision impairment to access and edit Irish text on a PC.

I established the BICC in AIB. I successfully managed the implementation of Hyperion 9, managing a team comprising internal AIB staff and external contractors. Managed the delivery of the first phase of the FOM project, co-ordinating technical teams across Teradata, Ab Initio and Hyperion technologies.

I led a team that facilitated design and managed updates to the AIB Data Model and Data Warehouse Metadata. Championed the business roles of Data Stewarts and User Group owners and put processes in place to support them. Managed the delivery to production of a number of business projects of systems to calculate regulatory and economic capital, using Teradata, Ab Initio, and Fermat technologies

Data Modelling and Design across all Data Warehouse based projects in AIB. Define, publish and champion data architecture principles in the Data Warehouse and Data Mart domain. Engaged with Enterprise Change programs for Risk and Finance to define sustainable data/information architecture for their deliveries.

I led the Data Warehouse development team in AIB from its establishment in 1997, building a competence in Teradata solution delivery. I successfully managed the implementation of a series of initiatives for CRM, Risk and Financial Control. The Data Warehouse has become the foundation for internal and external reporting in AIB.

I acted as solution architect on a number of enterprise change initiatives in particular in credit-related areas. Within the Enterprise Architecture Department I represented the application architecture discipline, - developing an end-to-end architecture view; -reviewing enterprise change initiatives at initiation; - executing the Application Portfolio Management function, maintaining the APM architectural asset in the Iteraplan tool. - Researched, developed and presented papers on a range of topics, to motivate good architectural practice across the IT functions in AIB. - On a rectification project, I designed wrote and tested an SQL solution to interrogate the AIB data warehouse, identifying customer accounts that required rectification and calculating the refunds due, in complex error situations identified by the business owners, in a tight timeline to meet regulatory requirements.

Execute the IT Architecture framework within the Enterprise Systems & Technology department in AIB. Review business cases for compliance with IT Architecture direction. I facilitated the series of Design Authority meetings for the Data and information, and the Application and Development domains. I chaired a set of Special Interest Group meetings, built consensus and documented and published architectural recommendations arising across a range of topics including: Reporting Strategy / Data Movement strategy / Java Web Application development and Ab Initio DB2 Connectivity.
