About
I’m a professional Taekwondo athlete originally from Afghanistan, with international experience representing Afghanistan on the world stage. I started my career in sport, where I developed resilience, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the power of community. Driven by a passion for human rights and social justice, I founded the Smile Charity Foundation in Afghanistan to support disadvantaged communities through education, mental health initiatives, and access to sport—empowering individuals to overcome barriers and build better futures. Due to threats related to my advocacy, I was forced to leave Afghanistan and resettle in Sydney, Australia. Since then, I’ve dedicated my efforts to empowering refugees and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities through inclusive sport, recreation, and community programs that promote wellbeing, connection, and opportunity. I am committed to building inclusive communities where everyone—regardless of background—has the chance to belong, grow, and succeed.
