After 14.5 years of full time employment, the time has come to push myself out of my comfort zone and go out on my own. Being uncomfortable is where the creativity resides.. équipe design & consulting is an entity with a little difference. Why équipe......... équipe : pronounced - eɪˈkiːp Meaning: noun. French “a team” or “a crew” or “a workgroup” In English equip : pronounced - ɪˈkwɪp Meaning verb 1. supply with the necessary items for a particular purpose. 2. prepare (someone) mentally for a particular situation or task I provide design and consulting services for all industries with expert CAD modelling capabilities (Creo) and a strong 20 year foundation in design for injection moulding to realise aproduct from conception to production. With a proven history in product design, I have also apply design based thinking for other projects like creation and evolution of process design, quality management and ERP systems and Operational Management of a Sydney based $40million plastic injection moulding facility. One area I find most fulfilling is in the mentoring of young designers to reach their potential. To harness the bright eyed and bushy tailed enthusiasm and guide them through the traps and pitfalls of the design process, but more importantly the manufacturing process of tooling and assembly for mass production. Basically, learning from 20 years of my mistakes and hard fought wins and mini and major milestones. I hope to assist you and your design teams realise your product soon.

Often, we do not wish to pay for a service that mimics our own skillset. What is the point if I can do it myself? Many times, in my career I have been head down bum up, beavering away, lost in the detail and minutia of a design for hours on end. A colleague comes over, looks at what I am doing and says, “what about this, or did you think of that?” They saw something in 30 seconds that I had missed all along. Only if they had said it three days earlier the design would have taken a different path for a more optimised result. 2. What is a Design Coach? This is my version, which may differ to others. It is the privileged position to be able to form a team for individuals or join a team where we can discuss ideas, solve design problems, and craft design directions. It is a fresh set of eyes with a different perspective and experiences to complement, and sometimes challenge your own, from a position of support and trust. 3. How can a Design Coach work? I believe regular touch points through out the design and development process gives best results rather than a tick box before throwing it over the wall to tooling or production. At this point you may not like what I have to say anyway as I am brutally honest from a position of compassion. The process can be phone calls, video meetings, or in person meetings on a daily, weekly or monthly depending on the project, the team, the designers experience and of course the budget. I am invested but not a charity and like you I have bills to pay. 4. Why do I want to do this? The inspiration came initially from my dad who did the same. It is ingrained. Many years ago, I realised the rewards of helping those around me succeed help me succeed also. I have 30 years of experience, knowledge, and contacts rattling around in my brain so why not share it.

By day I am an Industrial Design Consultant. By night and weekends I am Director of Womens Football, Coach and referee at Roselea Football Club and NWSF. Both of which i am equally passionate. With the same design skills I have honed in my professional life I have managed up to 22 teams of over 220 female players. And to my surprise have learne many new skills through football that have enhanced my design career. Over the last decade, with a dedicated buch of awesome volunteers we I have rebuilt the club from dark days and declining membership. I have designed, planned, created and run skills clinics, gala days, interstate football tours, social interactions with elite footballers from the A League, Socceroos and Matildas. I have managed the website, social media and communication (email distribution) But......... my most precious achievement is enabling the participation of many thosands of girls and women to play football and experience the mental, social and physical health benifits and life lessons that the Beautiful Game provides. Even before it was fashionable and once the forgotten segment of our code, the time for female football on the world stage is NOW.
