Guest Lecturer: Case studies with composite materials

Mission to manage the internal industrialization team for new products of the Ariane 6 secondary fairing structures. Responsible to ensure the industrialisation & production of quality parts and assemblies, according to the required costs and schedule. Providing expertise in costing and in the monitoring of industrial maturity. • Manage the project of industrialisation of the first parts with respect to the defined schedules and budgets (NRC) • Ensure the achievement of production QCD objectives for the industrialized product (Scrap rate, RC cost) • Ensure follow-up of the first fabrications (pre-series) and modifications • Ensuring integration of the new product into the manufacturing / assembly plants

Development and the production start of a new program until Serial Production Hand Over. Projects: -Embraer 175E2 Flap Track Fairings (aircraft) -MetopSG ICI (sattelite structure) -MetopSG MWI (sattelite structure) Fully in charge and responsible for all Industrial activities of a program (Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, NC programming, production…) until final customer delivery. You will manage the industrial budget of the program and the integrated team in charge of the industrialization. In charge of the following tasks: •Industrial focal point of the Group for the Customer. •Define the End-to End manufacturing process for the composite parts on a specific program. •Participate at the Joint Design Phase on the plateau to ensure concurrent engineering and guide the design team to perform design for manufacturing. •Drive an integrated industrial team composed of different Manufacturing Engineers for composite parts manufacturing, Tooling Engineers, Quality Engineers and NC Programmers. •Responsible to manage the production operators dedicated to manufacturing process of the concerned work packages. •Ensure good industrialization of a new product and able to prove product maturity level for transfer to serial production (QCD). •In charge of all industrial Dossiers for the work package. •Definition of the Quality, Cost and Cycle requirements for the work packages. •In charge of conducting technical analysis and propose solutions to potential corrective actions, non conformities, etc. •Manage the technical modifications at Sonaca and on customer sites.

Master thesis subject: Establishing a method for testing windturbine blade substructures. Experimental verified research for scale-based structural testing of windturbine blade substructures, with a focus on the bondline.

Master Thesis: Characterization of X-stitch reinforced foam cores The extra-occupational Master study program takes place at the campus in Stade. The Campus, which opened in 2007, is located in the direct vicinity of the Airbus Plant and CFK-Valley Stade. Emphasis is placed on the theoretical reinforcement of engineering subject matter during the first two semesters with a particular focus on the structural design of composite materials, production processes, process optimization and design of multi-functional composite materials. Business subject matter such as Internal Accounting & Controlling (within the framework of a business plan exercise), Innovations or Strategic Management is integrated into the first semester. Work on the Master’s thesis takes place in the third semester, and defense of the thesis finally leads to completion of the study program that culminates in a "Master of Science" degree.
