About
I welcome the opportunity to solve customer’s supply challenges as much as a straightforward enquiry and order. As a metallurgist by qualification, an engineer by experience and marketer by curiosity, I am never happier than when presented with a challenge – by grade, by properties, by market. Plus the opportunity to travel has been great– mostly between our warehouses in the UK and USA at the moment. Fortunately, I have the benefit of a strong team around me. The Langley Alloys team is down-to-earth and straightforward to deal with, despite the complexity of our business – exporting to more than 50 countries, dealing with some of the most mission-critical application and managing the ups and downs of the supply chain. Focused product offering I strongly believe it’s better to do a few things well than lots of things badly. Fortunately, that logic equally applies to the Langley Alloys product offering. Here, we focus on providing a range of high-strength high-performance alloys: - duplex and super duplex stainless steels (Ferralium 255, 32750, 32760, 32205) - nickel alloys (718, 625, 725, 825, 925, K500) - austenitic stainless steels (Nit50/Nit60) - our unique copper nickel grades (Hiduron 130/191, Hidurel 5). Technical competence Not because I’m a metallurgist, but because our systems are designed to handle the most complicated specifications and customer requirements. We maintain a library of industry standards alongside >2,000 customer specifications. With the support of several metallurgists and an experienced team we can distil complex requirements down to straightforward orders. Quality counts We work closely with long-term mill partners to ensure consistent supply with a comprehensive set of end-user approvals. A rigorous goods inward process ensures adherence to our high standards. Additional testing is routinely undertaken by our qualified team, including ultrasonic, dye penetrant, hardness, magnetic permeability and radiation testing. Other requirements are met by our approved contractors, whilst 3.2 ‘witness inspection’ is organised several times per week. Service as standard If people buy from people then you’re in luck. Our team across the UK and USA form longstanding relationships with our customers – getting to know them and understand their requirements. That’s supported by robust systems and investment in the latest equipment. Feel free to reach out to me directly.
