Worked with the Land Monitoring and Databases Team to conduct research into the potential of Community-Based Land Monitoring (CBLM) to achieve the goal of locally managed ecosystems. Research provided lessons into how the potential of CBLM and data collection can be harnessed in a way that reflects the needs and values of local people.

This position involves working from RFUK’s London office to support the implementation of the 2018-2021 Real-Time Monitoring (RTM) project in Africa. Work involves liaising closely with partner organisations in Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo and Cameroon to monitor project activities and extensive overseas travel for up to 12 weeks of the year. RFUK's RTM project involves the development and deployment of ForestLink, a technology which enables communities anywhere in the world to capture and transmit accurately geo-referenced reports of forest illegalities to a central database in real-time, even from areas where there is no mobile phone or internet connectivity.

* Assisted the Overseas Operations Managers with the following: * Communication with overseas projects, expeditions and country HQs * Recruitment, briefing and training of field staff * Sourcing, purchasing, and dispatching equipment * Collating internal reports and reports requested by donor agencies * Monitoring and evaluating project activities * Researching new country and project locations. * Managed staff recruitment including sending invites to candidates, arranging interview * sessions and doing in-person and skype interviews * Monitoring project activities through reporting system * Updating the recruitment database and * staff database * Presented at school talks, careers fairs and similar events

My work at Archipelagos involved working to develop a distribution study of microplastics around the Greek island of Samos. This involved collecting and analysing beach sediment and analysing Holothurians for the absorption of microplastic fibres.

* Managed a team to raise $30,000 for the Ontario Atlantic Regional Conference hosted by Queen’s University in October 2016. * In charge of managing and reporting on the sales activity and for any delegate servicing that arose throughout the conference. * Position involved corporate fundraising and sales, cold calls, warm calls and networking. * Over-delivered the sponsorship target by $2,500.

My internship involved working to promote environmental education and sustainable development: teaching school children how to live in a more eco-friendly way with less impact on the environment. I worked in a school in the North of Brazil where I delivered presentations and workshops on various aspects of environmental awareness. Through workshops, presentations and interactive activities I taught children between the ages of 5-18 the benefits of living in more sustainable ways.

Willen Hospice is a registered charity that provides specialist care for people whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment. I did voluntary work to gain skills in cashier operating, working with members of the public and working in a retail environment.
