Naast dat ik praktisch ingesteld ben kan ik over mijzelf zeggen dat ik een positieve, enthousiaste en opgewekte persoonlijkheid ben. Ik functioneer uitstekend in team verband, maar werk ook graag zelfstandig. Ik vind het leuk en uitdagend om technische oplossingen te bedenken voor een vraagstuk, daarnaast vind ik het heerlijk om met mijn handen bezig te zijn. Thuis in mijn vrije tijd doe ik dit veel door bijvoorbeeld het maken of het renoveren van meubels of lampen, voor mijn werk doe ik dit het liefst door het ontwikkelen, ontwerpen of onderhouden van elektronica.

As test & application engineer I'm responsible for the development of test software and interface hardware with the purpose of testing the latest IC´s on the market. These IC designs are developed by the designers and product engineers of our customers, some of the world's largest electronics manufacturers. Before these new IC's are entering the market each chip has to be tested thoroughly for functionality and performance, faulty IC´s are removed from the production line. For this crucial testing phase we make use of Automatic Test Equipment and interface hardware which are controlled by the test software that I create.

Before the treatment of lung and liver tumors a 4D-CT scan is made. In a 4D-CT scan the captured images are correlated with the respiration of the patient. This makes it possible to take the movement of the tumor into account during the making of the final treatment plan. The clinical physics department of RISO created a phantom test setup with the purpose of testing the image correlation algorithms of a 4D-CT scanner. This research phantom was developed so that it simulates the breathing of the patient. The graduation assignment was to develop and create an interface that uses information about the angle of the phantom, turning it over in a sinus function and finally transferring the information via the RS232 standard into the CT scanner. This sine function had to be exactly in sync with the rotation of the phantom. Since it concerned an interface for a test setup, accuracy of the signal processing was very important. The assignment was completed successfully.
