Assisted with the implementation of various Boeing community programs and events such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Systems Go Rocket launch event, Houston Area Urban League STEM Team, and Girls Exploring Math & Science at the Houston Museum of Science; assisted with booths, distributed marketing materials, and took photographs and more. Conducted on-site new hire orientation presentations, by leading the 4 hour presentation on company policy and history. Assisted in the preparation of various departmental PowerPoint slides and transcribed/edited meeting minutes for distribution to the group and maintained Media Contact list, Recorded minutes for Communications staff meeting and maintained product schedule. This was an exciting position, I learned quite a bit about page design, layout and quality control processes for print news. It was very interesting to see the thought that is put into story placement and selection. I think it was very helpful to learn what the media will be looking for in story content from a PR point of view when it comes press releases. I also saw the importance of editing the ads one releases. Nothing hurts more than to see sloppy advertisement that can't be corrected in the middle of your page.
