* Assisted department superintendent in managing all aspects of machine shop division of plant. Supervise daily machine shop floor activities to efficiently allocate resources and coordinate workflow in compliance with quality procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Accountable for recording manufacturing data into the ORACLE Inventory/Production system within the Machine Shop. Collaborates with management personnel to analyze this data and make process improvements. Partner with programmers to identify CNC programming issues and requirement changes. Ensure adherence to company policies, rules and regulations and reporting requirements relating to safety and health, performance standards, operating procedures, processes, and training requirements.

* Took lead on machine shop continuous improvement initiatives. * Partner with the maintenance department to identify and resolve equipment maintenance issues. * Work with quality assurance and machine shop personnel to implement nonconformance corrective actions. * Created overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) reports to review and analyze individual machine performance and identify opportunities to increase productivity.

* Spent time in melting, forging, rough machining, heat treating, finish machining, and inspection departments to develop understanding of manufacturing process from start to finish. * Performed time studies on machining processes while working with CAD/CAM department to reduce cycle times.

* The Interprofessional Projects Program (IPRO) joins students from various academic disciplines to work together to tackle a real-world problem. * Performed lifespan tests, hardness test, and collected strain gauge readings on existing tool cabinet design * Analyzed results to identify modes of failure and areas for improvement based on test data. * Investigated low cost alternatives to reduce manufacturing cost while maintaining cabinet specifications * Coordinated with company management to report results and acquire information/materials. * IPRO achievements: * Nominated, Outstanding Student Leadership Award at IPRO Day where all teams gather to present their projects. * First Place Award, IPRO – Team award for the Engineering Research and Design Track.
