Manage all imports from multiple ports to all distribution centers throughout the south eastern, and gulf states. Collaborated with VP of Regulatory Affairs and VP of finance to forecast budgets, review team performance and optimize shipping procedures in accordance with company policies.

Manage all inbound containers from the ports to our distribution centers. Supervise associates that are responsible for receiving the necessary documents and ensuring that ocean freight is paid in a timely manner to avoid any delays.

Duties of Shipping Manager. Negotiate the shipping rates with current carriers to maintain the most cost effective shipping, while maintaining a high level of customer service. Manage offsite inventory when levels exceed current onsite storage. Supervise a crew of 20 employees, including the logistics shipping and inventory coordinators. Manage all outbound domestic and international shipments within a 300,000 square foot warehouse.

Supervise a crew of 13 people. Handle the receiving of all finished goods from the manufacturing department. Ensure that the crew is selecting orders at 100% accuracy. Ensure that all orders are shipped to meet the customer receiving deadlines. Communicate all building maintenance needs with the maintenance department. Train and coach employees in safe work methods in a 100,000 square foot warehouse.

Ensure that product is received by customers in a timely and accurate fashion.

Supervise crew of 15 - 25 employees. Knowledge and compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations. Knowledge of SYSCO management warehouse computer system. Train and coach employees in safe work methods. Communicate with assigned personnel to enhance communications by meeting with assigned employees regularly. Establish and adjust work schedules and procedures to meet production schedules. Ensure product is handled properly to minimize damage. Interview potential employee candidates.
