I have just retired (as of November 21, 2015) as an attorney with the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania. I was a public interest lawyer for 37 years, the first 10 as a legal services attorney and the last 27 as a disability rights lawyer. I am interested in consulting work in disability-related matters, both litigation and policy. I was appointed to a three year term on the New York State Independent Living Council (NYSILC) beginning January 2016. I was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Finger Lakes Independence Center (FLIC) in April 2016 for a two year term. I began working as a volunteer attorney with Disability Rights New York in the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) program in May 2016.

I have officially retired from the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania as of November 21, 2015. I have moved to the Finger Lakes region of New York and I am interested in consulting opportunities as an expert or simply a consultant in disabilities-related policy and litigation projects. I have a great deal of litigation and policy experience in all areas related to services for people with disabilities. My main areas of work dealt with moving people with disabilities from institutional care to community services and, in the prison context, preventing people with mental disabilities from being placed in solitary confinement and securing appropriate mental health services for them.
