At my core, I am: Informed by the Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler. Inspired by the leadership lessons of Abraham Lincoln. Entertained by the World’s Greatest Detective, Sherlock Holmes. I am currently serve as President of the University of Houston-Victoria after recently completing my tenth year as the President of Athens State University where my great grandfather, a Methodist minister, preceded me in 1902. I began my career as a Hall Director and eventually served at four other institutions: Birmingham-Southern College, University of North Alabama, Missouri State University and Middle Tennessee State University. I welcome inquiries about independent consulting and speaking engagements.
