Lead IATA's strategic direction and advocacy efforts to advance the commercial sector energy transition with a primary focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This entails representing over 290 commercial airlines, on technical, commercial, sustainability and policy positions. Developed the economic cost of abatement modelling to assess industry net carbon zero by 2050. I lead IATA's SAF policy in ICAO - particularly relating to the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). In addition to ICAO interaction, I provide policy support at national, regional (e.g. EU) and international (UN) level to create the necessary framework for the commercialization of sustainable aviation fuels. This involves regularly engaging with governments to discuss policy that can effectively introduce and commercialise SAF and be designed in a way that works for the aviation industry. Member of the ICAO, Fuels Task Group, Co-leading the Technology, Production and Policy sub-group. Deputy Chair of the Board of the Coalition of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Accountability (CoSAFA) developing SAF book and claim accounting guidance. Publications: refer to the link: www.iata.org/whatwedo/environment/Pages/alternative-fuels.aspx Conceived the concept of a global symposium for supply and demand actors in sustainable aviation fuel and continue to organise, lead and facilitate this event. The 8th IATA Sustainable Aviation Fuel Symposium will be held virtually on the 3rd and 4th November 2021. http://www.iata.org/events/Pages/alternative-fuels-symposium.aspx Have presented at more than 120 international conferences and events including more than 15 key-note addresses.
