Robert Bostick

Robert Bostick is a freelance photographer and photojournalist based in Dallas Texas specializing in event, editorial, and assignment photography. Born in Killeen Texas, Robert studied commercial art at Central Texas University and then classical painting at De Anza College in Cupertino California. As an intern for the Austin Chronicle in 1988 Robert learned process camera work and film developing under Art Director and photographer Martha Grenon which began a passion for photography ever since. After spending years as a graphic designer and illustrator Robert turned to photography full time in 2008 and is a regular contributor to various print and online magazines, including Culturemap, The Dallas Observer, Modern Luxury, 360 West, Mens Health, D Sidedish, CRAVE dfw, MSN and many others. Robert has been an official photographer for Chefs for Farmers, Swing For Relief, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and The North Texas Irish Festival. Robert is also a volunteer photographer for The American Red Cross Public Affairs Office and received The Presidents Volunteer Service Award under the Obama Administration. Robert became a member of the American Society of Media Photographers in 2008.

Graphics Manager Managed the design/pre-press department of a grand format printing company with a focus on out-of-home advertising. Acted as senior designer, trained employees and consulted clients on file preparation. Achieved high levels of client satisfaction and client retention. Acted as company photographer.

Designed out-of-home advertising, internal collateral, marketing materials and produced completion photos for contract fulfillment. Provided location and demographic mapping, as well as photographing special events.

Operated hi-speed digital printers, duties included printing, scanning and routine preventative maintenance.

Acted as vendor liaison for a periodical and video distribution company specializing in graphic novels and Japanese animation. Duties included overseeing the transport of the company catalog from printer in Canada and representing the company at industry trade-shows. Accompanied the president on business trips as personal assistant.

Digital imaging specialist. Duties included the scanning and archiving of legal documents.

Worked in art sales for gallery dealing in high-end limited editions and original works by contemporary and 19th century artists.
