From 1997 until 2003, I was a Check Airman on the Boeing 757 and 767 on both Domestic and International operations at American Airlines. During this time, I conducted First Officer and Captain upgrade training and check rides in Europe, South America, Pacific, Caribbean, Bermuda, and the United States. ATP Single & Multi Engine, Type rated Boeing,777,767,757,727,DC-9(MD-80). Flight Engineer B-727, Basic Ground and Instrument Ground Instructor rating. Allied Pilots Association, National Safety Committee, Base Safety Chairman(BOS), Air Traffic Procedures Advisory Committee.

As a member of the Allied Pilots Association National Safety Committee, I helped develop and implement the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The foundation of ASAP is a safety partnership among the FAA, American Airlines, and our employee labor union. The program's focus is to encourage voluntary reporting of any safety issues and events that come to the attention of pilots, flight attendants, dispatchers, and maintenance workers. Events or issues are analyzed, and corrective action is taken when necessary. In 1994 American Airlines became the first airline to implement the ASAP program. While on the safety committee, I worked on the Air Traffic Capacity Enhancements with all users of the airspace system including the Military, Airlines, General Aviation and Government. Projects included working on the development of Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM), Parallel Runway Monitor using the E-Scan Radar, Converging Runway Display Aids with the Mitre Corporation and work on the final change 7 to Traffic Collision Avoidance System, etc.

Lifeguard Robert Moses State Park(Jones Beach) 1966 until 1975. Upon retirement from American Airlines returned as an ocean lifeguard at the Cape Cod National Seashore. President of the Cape Cod Chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) from 2009 until 2012. Currently a Red Cross Open Water Instructor. 2014 Elected as President of the New England Region of the USLA.
