I’m the Founder of Texas TransformED, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit focused on one goal: making Texas #1 in K–12 public education. I love Texas. I am a business owner and investor in this state, and I went to public schools here. My children are in our public schools.We believe public education should deliver five non-negotiables:1. Students who can read, write, and think clearly — at or above grade level;2. Graduates who are fully prepared for college, trades, military service, or first jobs on graduation day;3. Schools and districts led by competent, highly qualified people who are accountable to student outcomes and measured transparently;4. A state system that operates with minimal waste, zero tolerance for corruption, and rewards teachers and leaders who deliver measurable results;5. Parents and taxpayers who have more choices — and significantly lower property taxes.Texas TransformED exists because Texas is currently ranked 44th in the nation in education outcomes, despite being #1 in trade, jobs, economic development, and population growth. Texas is the 8th-largest economy in the world and graduates roughly 90% of students, yet only 54% are prepared for college, trades, military service, or first jobs. Fewer than half of Texas students read or perform math at grade level in 3rd, 5th, and 8th grade assessments. We believe all of this is fixable, and that Texas could and should lead the world in educational outcomes and define the future of schooling.This is a system where financial incentives are misaligned, accountability is weak, and taxpayer-funded lobbying often outweighs student results. Most importantly, we are parents with children in this system — and it is not delivering what it promises.We focus on:• The Funding Formula -- The flow of money in the system needs to be transparent and follow students• Literacy — Reading real books, 1M words per year!• Writing — Clear communication as a foundation for clear thinking• Math Instruction — Mastery at each level before progression• School Finance Reform — Reducing waste, inefficiency, and corruption • Parent Empowerment — Families deserve options, information, and leverage• Teachers — Identifying (through data), promoting, and financially incentivizing performanceWe bring together teachers, parents, business leaders, and policymakers around practical, outcome-driven solutions.Follow me here — and get involved at www.TexasTransformED.org
