• As 1 of 2 Licensing Supervisors for the Province of Alberta, provide support, direction and training to a team of up to 14 provincial licensing inspectors to ensure that accommodation and safety standards inspections are completed in accordance with accepted practices and within guidelines prescribed by departmental policy, procedures and legislation. • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of licensing inspectors, for the southern half of the province, delegated with the responsibility for licensing and monitoring to the Supportive Living Accommodation Licensing Act (SLALA) and Regulations; Resident and Family Councils Act (RFCA), Nursing Home Act and Operation Regulation. • Identify risks and risk mitigation strategies in specific supportive living and long-term care accommodations as issues arise and in accordance with accepted policies and procedures. • Provide regional level expertise about SLALA and RFCA by providing briefings, background materials for the Manager, Director, Executive Director, Assistant Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister and Minister. • Ensure that investigations are conducted and concluded in a consistent, thorough, timely, non-biased and objective manner; audit complaint investigation findings to ensure that they are consistent with established policies and procedures. • Foster collaborative relationships with collateral authorities (i.e. Fire Commission, Environmental Health, Alberta Health Services) as well as other government ministries.

Inspecting Supportive Living Accommodations for compliance to the Supportive Living Accommodation Licensing Regulation and the Supportive Living Accommodation Licensing Act throughout the Province of Alberta. Investigating complaints received in regards to the Accommodation Standards. Work independently in order to achieve team, region and provincial goals of 100% inspections of Supportive Living Sites across the province.
