Part time Lecturer in Advanced Design Innovation.

Starting as a Design Engineer and then specialising in Industrial Design, my role at Gtech gave me a broad range of experience in all elements of the design process. I was responsible for supporting products through sampling and into mass production and have therefore worked closely with factories both remotely and on the ground in China. Additionally, I was made responsible for overseeing Gtech’s visual direction. Selected for my aptitude in industrial design, I developed and implement a consistent and considered Visual Brand Language. Unifying not only the industrial design direction but also seeking to ensure consistency in branding and all visual elements relating to the products.

Whilst working for D2M I worked on a number of award winning products in the mother and baby sector. I specialised in the combination of textiles and hard goods, client handling and product styling.

student industrial placement involving the implementation of new technology from suppliers for continuos product improvement. Design for installation of lighting equipment, considering needs and ability of technicians and installation tradesman. New product development to fulfil needs of customers within the lighting industry. understanding of batch manufacturing systems and production methods.

Worked in concept generation for new product development in emerging global markets. Concept generation within brand guidelines. Also gained experience in 3D tools for graphic design and design for Point of Purchase advertising

Design of tooling storage and management system through custom database design with links to existing company Job shop system. Focused on contact points of system being tailored to different users within the organisation. Also completed graphic design for internal newsletters and documents as well as national media advertisements.
