Supporting client in developing a new energy storage product (350 kW / 1000V DC outputs) from concept to completion of beta units. Services include product specifications, possible architectures, design, analysis, and alignment with stakeholders.

Inspired by my departed grandmothers... Created a startup to improve healthcare by simplifying patient data. During COVID-19, pivoted to an automated contact tracing application that was scalable and anonymous for all patients.

Managed and participated with various global multi-disciplinary teams to execute world's most sophisticated Microgrid, including engineering, construction, operations, manufacturing, subcontractors, vendors, etc. Ensured the safety, growth, and development of onsite operations and engineering team.      ● Used electrical subject matter expertise to understand customer’s wants, deliver extensive support for shutdowns, events, troubleshooting/RCA, and produced possible solutions. Provided scope, pricing, and executed orders as needed.

Working under President, SVP of Sales, and VP of Engineering as the company’s on-site technical expert, representative, and manager of (1) Microgrid SCADA and (2) Energy Storage System (ESS). Steve Job’s Apple Park microgrid achieved leading edge seamless transition with only inverter-based renewable sources (https://youtu.be/FzcfZyEhOoI). Projects includes tailor-made Energy Storage System (4MWh+/14MW), Fuel Cells (4MW+), Solar PV (17MW+), Reciprocating Generators (6MWs), Grid-forming Inverters, ESS-FC DC Link, Utility Interconnections, 12kV MV Switchgear, 480V LV Switchgear, Transformers. SCADA includes generation/load control, shedding, blackstart, interfacing (BAS, BIS, Fire Alarm, Lighting Control, relays, meters, breaker status, networking), HMI, data collection (Data Concentrators) and retention (Historian).      ● Led projects through submittals, design, construction, installation, startup, testing, commissioning.      ● Management responsibilities include supervision, scope, schedule, change orders, pricing, budget, safety, training, subcontractors, quality assurance, alignment with stakeholders.      ● Successfully grew field team from 2 to 16 people within two years. I personally trained and developed my team of construction workers, technicians, engineers, and project management personnel. Built team culture with a strong identity in safety, perseverance, and get it done mentality.      ● Executed the field work personally until those I trained proved to be safe and competent. As the team grew, I developed them to safely supervise and lead their own teams. I’m proud of creating our team’s identity of safety, perseverance, and get it done mentality.

Leading and supporting power projects projects worldwide in Solar PV, Grid Energy Storage / Stationary, Generation, Transmission & Distribution. Team expert on modeling. Leads or executes steady state & dynamic modeling including transmission, distribution, Grid Energy Storage / Stationary / Batteries, advanced inverters (w/ reactive power control), generators / gas turbines. Peer review assessments of models, studies, protection coordination.

As a Project Manager/Engineer and Electrical Engineer, led and supported power projects on renewable energy, solar photovoltaic, energy efficiency, power quality, power reliability, grid scale energy storage, co-generation, transmission, distribution, protection, substation, operations, maintenance, system modeling and analysis (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, dynamic / transient), load growth analysis, system optimization for downstream and upstream facilities worldwide.

Lead study which resulted in improving reliability in HV (69kV & 115kV) underground infrastructure. Study triggered ~$50 million dollars of reconductoring to prevent outages from cable failure.      ● Proved existing analysis method inaccurate with a program I created in VB.      ● Saved company millions of dollars since corrected study decreased overload count by 10%.

Managed/contributed to 7+ operational projects under the Division and Operations Engineer. Daily tasks included information retention documentation, pipeline integrity assessment, hydraulic calculations, transformer oil analysis, SCADA, operational troubleshooting, and communication with management/engineers/operators/technicians.      ● Played pivotal role in successful start up of motor protection project and saved project         over $16k. Given responsibility of overseeing and implementing all aspects of ~$150k project         to protect 11 high power motors (350 HP - 900 HP) with SEL-710s (motor protection relays).      ● Wrote technical service document and streamlined SEL-710 installation & maintenance.      ● Installed conduit, pulled wire, and created redlines to update existing drawings.      ● Identified overloaded motor caused by past system modifications.      ● Characterized DRA injector intermittent behavior and determined simple software solution.

Lectured, created lesson plans, worksheets, and practice tests on chemistry topics: stoichmetric calculations, dimension analysis, thermodynamics, semiconductor doping, atomic modeling, quantum mechanics, and organic nonmenclature.
