CTO @ Raise Robotics

About

I build Physical AI systems: autonomous robots that perceive, reason, and act in the real world's toughest environments. As CTO at Raise Robotics, I lead the development of general-purpose autonomous mobile robots designed for heavy industry, including construction, manufacturing, and industrial operations. Our robots operate on active jobsites, handling tasks that are hazardous, repetitive, or precision-critical, working alongside human crews in unstructured, unpredictable conditions. These are not lab demos. The technology stack I oversee spans the full embodied AI pipeline: mechanical architecture and ruggedized hardware, electrical and embedded systems, perception (computer vision, LiDAR, sensor fusion), motion planning and autonomous navigation, and cloud-based fleet monitoring. We build on ROS 2 with real-time diagnostics through Foxglove, and our modular platform architecture allows rapid reconfiguration across different applications and tool attachments. What I spend my time on:• Designing general-purpose robot platforms that adapt across industries, not single-task machines• Scaling from prototype to field-deployed production systems with modular, serviceable subsystems• Building and leading cross-functional engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, software, and perception• Driving patent strategy for next-generation robotic construction and industrial automation methods• Translating deep technical systems into products that solve real operational pain pointsBefore Raise, I spent 4+ years at Tortuga AgTech building autonomous agricultural robots (battery systems, drivetrains, reliability programs). The robots I helped engineer went on to be recognized as TIME Best Inventions and Ag Robot of the Year. Earlier, I designed carbon sequestration hardware at Chakr Innovation, where our work won the ASME Best Hardware Startup award and United Nations 3s Award.I write about embodied AI, field robotics, and what it actually takes to ship hardware that works outside the lab. Open to connecting with founders, investors, engineers, and operators building at the intersection of AI and the physical world.tech.rishabh@gmail.com
