Responsible for a real-time decision engine which enabled compliance for all Klarna products globally. Also responsible for the interface that operations staff used to action cases which needed manual review. Initiated multiple PoCs which used generative AI using OpenAI to improve efficiency and accuracy of manual processes. Led the team of engineers and analysts which is responsible for a decision engine which enabled compliance of Klarna's products globally to regulations in the Anti Money Laundering (AML) space. The product was extensively localized owing to a variation of regulations across markets and products. The products in scope included the real-time consumer onboarding process for the core 'Buy Now Pay Later' business globally as well as the onboarding process for the bank accounts in the German market. Also in scope were bank transfers within the SEPA region. I was also responsible for the interface which Klarna's internal operations staff used to work on alerts and cases which required manual intervention. The goal of the product was to make the manual review process as time efficient and accurate as possible. I played a pivotal role in initiating proofs of concepts which used a mix of machine learning and generative AI using the OpenAI platform to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the manual reviews. Some of these PoCs are now in the pipeline for implementation in the production environment. Key responsibilities included the following: 1. Setting the mission and vision. 2. Aligning with stakeholders across the company and aligning the roadmap of the team in the context of organization wide goals. 3. Owning the P&L of the product and setting the budget for the team considering the roadmap. 4. Check-ins with the consumers/users of the products to collect feedback and to facilitate continuous improvement of the product offering.
