Research topic: Vacuum Impregnation on shelf-life of perishable fruits. Installed a sterile vacuum impregnation process system and found that bacteria, yeast and molds on fruit were reduced as after vacuum treatment; Teaching assistant: Designed and delivered laboratory classes on heat exchangers for groups of 5-6 undergraduates from Feb to Apr 2017, and graded lab experiment reports. Received many “thank you” remarks for excellence in teaching;

Synthesized two antibody-drug conjugates: Trastuzumab-monomethyl auristatin E (T-MMAE) and Trastuzumab-emtansine (T-DM1, trade name Kadcyla), and optimized reaction conditions at laboratory scale; Carried out buffer preparation, protein dialysis and extraction, chromatography analysis, and endotoxin control experiments, and trained two new colleagues on synthesis techniques. Developed understanding on lean manufacturing and EHS management principles.

Investigated on the topic “Mixing patterns of solids in an agitated filter dryer”; Conducted particle imaging velocimetry and near infrared spectroscopy experiments, and used FLUENT and Matlab for computational fluid dynamics simulations on solid flow models, and evaluated the feasibility of each method.
