The CTO will provide technical leadership to the EOSC Association and serve as the primary driver and catalyst for delivery of the technical ambitions of the EOSC Strategy Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA).   The CTO will co-ordination and deliver technical solutions and policies in collaboration with EOSC Association members and associated stakeholders. The CTO shall drive innovation and delivery together with stakeholders and shall be the Lead in addressing the primary technical challenges and prerequisites to implementing the EOSC ecosystem.   The CTO is responsible for delivering on the technical ambitions of EOSC through co-ordination and collaboration via working and advisory groups, task forces, partnerships and other stakeholder fora, as well as other European and International projects in the scope of EOSC.

Building on the state of the art Nordic, European and Global network infrastructure René Buch headed the expansion into a customer focus ICT organisation delivering business critical services within On Line learning and Collaboration tools for the Nordic Higher education and Research Community. This included in adding a comprehensive Nordic Data center infrastructure to the NORDUnet Network Infrastructure
