 Supervised three residential care facilities (RCF II) for the elderly severely mentally ill and individuals with substance abuse. Supervised 2 office, 2 maintenance, 3 supervising nurses, 2 recreational staff and 21 direct care staff. Developed and implemented policies and procedures. Screened, hired and trained staff on state required curriculum. Set and enforced company policies and procedures. Maintained staff and resident files. Acted as a liaison between personnel, the office of aging and the department of mental health. On call duties, conflict resolution, developing and monitoring budgetary needs and crisis intervention. Monitoring resident status including medication, nutrition and recreation. Participated in development and implementation of person centered support plans.

 Acted as counselor, teacher and job placement specialist for welfare to work program. Provided group and individual counseling with persons with persistent mental illness, substance abuse , legal and developmental issues. Developed curriculum, crisis intervention, and job coaching and placement for recipients. Acted as liaison between program and welfare case workers. On call duties, crisis intervention and conflict resolution. Maintained client files.

8/02-3/05 St Louis County Special School District St Louis, MO Supervisor Teacher-emotional/behavioral disturbed children/therapeutic specialist  Duties included supervision of four special education teachers and two teacher’s aides. Acted as liaison between general education, special ed teachers, administration and judicial system. Developed and revised student schedules. Worked as a key member of an inter-disciplinary team to develop and implement IEPs (individual education plans) and person centered behavioral interventional plans. Developed and implemented curriculum and lesson plans. Assessment of students for placement in programs. Taught classes in social science, science, communication arts, study skills and social skills. Conflict resolution and crisis intervention.

4/97-11/99 Emmaus Homes St. Charles, MO Support Coordinator/Job Coach  Supervised 32 direct care staff in a residential facility for the developmentally delayed. Trained staff on state mandated and company policies and procedures. Maintained staff and client files. Wrote and implemented person centered support plans and monitored wellbeing of residents including medication, recreation and nutrition. Acted as liaison between department of mental health and home staff. On call duties, crisis intervention and conflict resolution.

9/87-9/95-4/97-8/97 Loudoun County Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation Leesburg, VA Clinical Case Worker/Job Coach  Worked in the outpatient clinic, residential and the PSR program. Provided individual, group and family counseling, community integration and job development and placement for persons with long term mental illness, substance abuse, developmental delays and court ordered legal issues. Crisis intervention and monitoring of client wellbeing including medication, conflict resolution and development and implementation of person centered treatment plans. Acted as liaison between department of rehabilitation, social security and places of employment.

I am currently working on my Ph.D. in psychology. I hope upon completion to return to work after a long illness. I also write and am seeking a publisher in the romance/fantasy genre!
