Responsible for the delivery of effective social work services (30 staff) across the acute and subacute sectors of Western, Sunshine and Williamstown and Royal Melbourne Hospitals, including financial, business and human resource management. Key achievements: Initiated and undertook review of social work services and successful implementation of new vision and structure for the service, identification of service gaps and reallocation of staff to better meet the needs of service users Development of a practice research partnership with the University of Melbourne, which resulted in publications, conference presentations and the development of an ongoing academic relationship with the School of Social Work Active involvement in the development of allied health business plan

My role as CEO is to ensure the overall longevity and corporate sustainability of the Association into the future, while delivering on our goal to be recognized as Australia’s leading authority on breastfeeding information, education and support. I provide direction within the business on stakeholder relations, advocacy,financial management and corporate governance, people and culture development and customer focused program delivery.

In addition to the National Director, Programs, I have been acting in this position due to an Executive level vacancy. Over the past several months I have played a significant role in establishing this position and division with a focus on: Providing high-level leadership for the sustainable delivery of relevant and effective programs and functions across all Australian states territories. Overseeing the development of state based planning by State Executive Officers, ensuring the process is consistent with organisational strategic and operational requirements Effectively managing state/region State Executive Officers to ensure that locally delivered programs and functions are targeted, integrated and consistent with national strategy Supporting local State Executive Officers to build local profile, identify and develop opportunities for growth and manage stakeholder relationships
