Senior Project Manager @ Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals Inc.

About

I have been working in Pharmaceutical industry for 10+years. I have worked as a researcher in developing generic product and as project manager fo handling 505(b)2 product from R&D stage to later development stage (Phase 3). Here are five points that I found critical to be a good Project Manager. 1. I honed my abilities in project management and schedule and timeline management, providing a solid foundation for the Project Manager position. My team-building, people-centric nature, and eagerness to please have afforded me excellent critical thinking skills. 2. Of my years working as a PM, I understand the importance of working and coordinating across functions and outside parties to clearly understand "what is needed" and "what can be offered". Most importantly, to leverage the differences by communicating with different parties to get the job done so that the project goal can be achived. Being transparent and open-minded is a MUST! 3. Project development is all about money! As a PM, we need not only to oversight the timeline but also to ensure all tasks can be delivered within budget. Thus, contract and price negotiation scale is very essential! One of our biggest goal is to get the job done within budget and time frame. 4. A PM is a good listener who listens to team's requirement and try to analysis what are essential and realistic from regulatory requirement's prospective. as the regulatory requirements tends to change overtime, PM needs to be aware of the change and update the project tasks and timeline accordingly. 5. PM is also a supportive role to other project members. PM needs to think a step ahead of the project team to identity the potential changes to the tasks and discuss with the team for potential change in plan. Moreover, to support time for finding resources for adopting the change or assess the risk at a regular basis. My past 10+ years as a PM, I am trained to uptake a well around role who is able to coordinate from CMC task, nonclinical studies coordination, oversight and support clinical development to taking part in regulatory strategic planning.
