* Oversaw all Clinical and Commercial Development Plans for Metabolex * s development candidates including: Arhalofenate ( MBX-102) * a novel oral small molecule uricosuric and PPAR-gamma ligand for the treatment of hyperuricemia, acute gout flares, and components of metabolic syndrome, MBX-2982 * a potential first-in-class G protein-coupled receptor 119 agonist for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and MBX-8025 * a first-in-class PPAR-delta agonist for the treatment of mixed dyslipidemia. * Developed design concepts for pivotal and supportive trials, regulatory filing strategies for the US and worldwide markets, as well as budgetary and resource needs for each development program.

* Responsible for the organizational design and hiring of appropriate staff for newly formed global business unit; ensuring integration with other business units and platform lines. * Developed yearly operating plans including the business unit medical strategy, staffing requirements, and budgets. * Formed new Biosimilars group: hired qualified colleagues, drafted initial strategic plan, worked with other Functional lines ensuring execution of appropriate studies and product availability. * Developed life cycle planning and execution for all peri-LOE compounds including Lipitor. * Evaluated all relevant in-licensing opportunities. * Developed global generic strategies including licensing deals, generic filings, partnerships and acquisitions. * Oversaw approximately 600 products including medical product defense responses to regulatory and/or legal challenges. * Designed and executed all clinical pharmacology studies to support reformulation initiatives.

* Senior Medical Director, Oncology Clinical R&D Group Lead * Successfully designed the organization and hired the appropriate colleagues for a newly formed Oncology R&D group based in New York. * Developed, executed and oversaw phase 3b and phase 4 studies (including line extensions) for sunitinib (Sutent), exemestane (Aromasin), irinotecan (Camptosar), epirubicin (Ellence), axitinib, IGF1R inhibitor, and tremilimumab * Senior Medical Director/Team Leader - Breast Cancer * Responsible for all medical affairs activities (clinical study plans, publication strategy, KOL management, grant review and support, advisory boards, alignment with field-based medical colleagues) supporting exemestane (Aromasin) and epirubicin (Ellence). * Developed, executed and oversaw phase 3b and phase 4 studies * Worked closely with Oncology R&D groups to ensure alignment of clinical and commercial plans for products in earlier development phases; developed life-cycle strategy and implementation plans.
