I set up and managed the air quality unit within SSI (this has been up and running since February of 2006), I am also responsible for the co-ordination of environmental innovation programmes. This involves the focusing of resources on the development of new products, and systems for implementation by the Sector and the greater SSI.

In this role I imbed quality management processes across the group now extended to include operations across the SADC, East and West African Regions. The objective is to ensure all clients receive the same level of service irrespective of which business entity within the EBS Group is engaged. This level of engagement further ensuring ongoing skills transfer to staff, and allows for continued innovation within the ESG sector.

I am responsible for the management of the Environmental Sector of SSI, this includes providing guidance to the three service line heads in the Sector, as well as ensuring the financial viability of the Envionmental Business for the Company.

Responsible for securing, carrying out and managing Air Quality Impact Assessments, management plans, baseline assessments etc.

Lectured to the Nursing Students at the Rand Afrikaans University subject taught was saprozoonotic deseases.

I headed up the Specialist Environmental Services Unit within the SSI Environmental Sector. This involved the development of key specialist services and the growth and further development of existing specialist services such as air quality, water quality, coastal management, and biodiversity management.

Managing Director for the SADC region Responsible for the management of a dynamic group of consultants focussed on the maximization of value to key investor groups due to their evaluation and presentation of investments in ESG indicators. These assessments enable the identification and mitigation of risks and liabilities on projects as well as the maximization of imbedded value which increases the assets attractiveness to future investors.

I am responsible for the Technical Risk management of all Enviornmental Staff within RHDHV South Africa as well as for the management of the Sustainability portfolio (selected ESG indicators) for the Africa Arm of RHDHV. I am also a Deputy Business Unit Director for Industry as part of the Industry & Energy Business Unit, with a focus on growing and securing work from Various Clients through the provision of both engineering and environmental services. Key focus areas include ESG, circular economy, solar power, hydropower, wind power, thermal power, industrial agriculture, heavy industry, waste and biomass to energy projects, LNG.

I am responsible for the management of a team of consultants focussed on the development of large scale build infrastructure projects. Key focus areas include energy generation, agricultural processing, industrial process optimization, mining, oil and gas as well as the waste beneficiation industry. Product delivery is client focussed aimed at minimizing a clients risks and liabilities with specific focus on ESG and circular economy considerations. Typical client types include banks, large multinationals, property developers, venture capitalists, government departments.

My Thesis was entitled the Evaluation of a Fish Health Assessment Index as Biomonitoring Tool for Heavy Metal Contamination in the Olifants River Catchment Area. This also enabled the development of a parasite index used to assess fish health and consequently the type of pollution present in a river system. This development resulted in my Doctorate being awarded the Night Award for its contribution to the field of Parasitology.
