Environmental Research and Surveys • Lead Consultant – Sarangani Bay Fish Stock Assessment, Sarangani Bay. Department of Agriculture – Fisheries Sector Project. A 13-month captured fishery study covering onboard monitoring, fish landing and fisherfolks socio-economic profile. The project was conducted by a consortium from Silliman University Marine Laboratory and Mindanao State University- College of Fisheries. The project was funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB). • Consultant - Coastal Resources Management Project- Dole - Mahintana Foundation, A USAID funded project aims to establish community-based CRM in 13 sites. The project involves Marine Baseline studies (Water and Sediment, Corals, Infauna, Benthic communities and fisheries), establishment of marine sanctuary and reserves, fisheries management plan, livelihood programs and community environmental education. (1994-1996) • Consultant- Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape- National Integrated Protected Area System (NIPAS), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR under R.A. 7586 of 1992). Louis Berger International Inc. (LBII- Philippines), establishment of a bay wide management system under NIPAS which includes Marine Baseline Studies (Water and Sediment, Corals, Infauna, Benthic communities and fisheries), establishment of marine reserves, management zones, fisheries management and the organization of protected area management board (PAMB) for policy formation and management of the protected area. • Water and Sediment quality, FYD International Fish Farm Operation- the operation of 300 hectares water area, intensive fish farm. The fish farm produces Shrimps and Tilapia all year round. Water monitoring regime is done every twice a day for DO, pH, and Salinity, every 3 days for ammonia, sulphides, nutrients pond bacterial load monitoring during the culture period and Sediment quality assessment twice a year during pond bottom preparation (nutrients, pH, salinity, ammonia, sulphides, metals, bacterial etc.) (2002-2007)

• Consultant Marine Biologist – Environmental Team, Louis Berger International Inc. (LBII- Philippines) SOCSARGEN Mindanao Growth Plan, baseline study of Water and Sediment, marine habitat and resources including Coral, Mangroves, Seagrasses, Fish and Benthic Infauna. This was conducted in 32 sites as an input to the environmental section of the growth plan. (1994-1998)

• Study Leader- Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines. The project involves the conduct of a marine environmental baseline and assessment profiling for water and sediment, marine habitat, surveys of Corals Reefs, Mangroves, Seagrass and Fisheries of Balut and Sarangani Islands in the Philippines. Study results were used as baseline data for Coastal Resource Management program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Philippines.
