Experience leading a team to design and implement software from start to finish. Mostly develop in C/C++ but have helped architect products with large portions of JAVA. Work closely with usability, QA, tech pubs, marketing, and management when guiding the technical aspects of a project. I had 8 software patents granted during my 27-year career at BMC Software. I now work for Visa. I hope to learn about that industry and its challenges.

I had been an architect at BMC Software for a number of years. I started at BMC Software as a supplemental employee while attending the University of Texas at Austin. I was employed as a full-time developer during my last semester at UT. My initial development duties were with PATROL DB-Stats for Oracle. Eventually I became an architect. My initial architect duty was with Space Expert for Oracle, then Space Expert for DB2 UDB and the SmartDBA for DB2 UDB solution. I played a small role on SQL BackTrack before working on a data integration layer that leveraged Composite Information Server to combine data from disparate data sources in an efficient manner. I then 'switched sides' so to speak to the mainframe side of the house where I learned a lot about the power of the mainframe and z/OS. I used C, C++, and Assembler in my work on the mainframe.
