Directing multidisciplinary coordination of acute psychiatric care, physician team management, patient/provider work flow, as well as organization of resident and medical student educational experiences.

As the Unit Chief of Columbia University Medical Center / New York Presbyterian Hospital's inpatient psychiatry unit, I supervise the four core treatment teams of attending physicians, resident physicians, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers in the coordination and implementation of patient care for mental illness and co-morbid medical issues surrounding acute psychiatric decompensations. I work closely with the Vice Chair for Clinical Services and Director of Inpatient care to coordinate the logistical operations of treatment, maintain credentialing and regulatory compliance standards, and optimizing patient flow to maintain efficiency and the highest quality of care across treatment modalities including tertiary psychopharmacology, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), intensive modular psychotherapies including DBT and CBT, as well as streamlined discharge planning for ongoing care at partial hospital programs, residential treatment facilities, and the New York State Office of Mental Health system.

I currently hold the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center / New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry. I advanced to my current position from a Clinical Instructor position having met university criteria for promotion following two year of employment in good standing as a treating clinician and my accompanying academic achievements including being co-author on several peer-reviewed articles, serving as a the editor of a video appendix for an American Psychiatric Press book, co-directing and instructing several classes in the psychiatry residency and having presented at national academic forums including the American Psychiatric Association and American Group Psychotherapy Association annual meetings.
