Raul Ponson

Mr. Ponson is a member of the management team of SETAR N.V. SETAR N.V. is the leading provider of Fixed Telephone-, Wireless Mobile-, Broadband Internet-, Advanced Video and Commercial Data services in Aruba. These services are provided to a diverse base of residential and commercial customers. Mr. Ponson oversees the technical operations of SETAR N.V. and is in charge of guiding the evolution of the networks to next generation architectures. He also oversees strategic projects and initiatives aimed at enabling the introduction of new and competitive services across all product lines. During the last few years SETAR has focused on a continuous upgrade of the Broadband Services provided to customers through xDSL, DOCSIS, FTTH, GSM-GPRS/EDGE and UMTS-HSPA technologies. Right now Mr. Ponson is focused on the implementation of NG-PON, 4.5 G Pro, 5G and IPTV technologies as well as managing the change in work and management methodologies. From 2005 to 2008 he served as General Manager of Cable Television of Aruba N.V, a subsidiary of SETAR. Mr. Ponson oversaw the complete re-vamping of the company, including a complete upgrade of the cable system, transition to digital services and introduction of High Speed Internet Services. This work culminated with the preparation and execution of the integration of the Cable Television operations within SETAR N.V. Mr. Ponson holds a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the Delft university of technology at Delft, The Netherlands. He served as a member of the board of the Caribbean Cable & Telecommunications Association between 2008 and 2018.
