Raşitcan CEYLAN
Senior Buyer @ Volvo Cars
About
Mechanical engineer by education, technical buyer by specialization, and an automotive enthusiast by heart. I’ve built my career around metal and plastic components, with hands-on expertise in processes such as machining (steel, cast iron, aluminum), plastic injection molding, EPP, thermoforming, and blow molding, combining engineering depth with sourcing precision. With experience from global OEMs such as Volvo Cars, Toyota Motor Europe, and Koenigsegg, I bring a rare ability to speak both “engineering” and “commercial,” bridging drawings and tolerances with negotiations and contracts. My decisions are grounded in strong business acumen, always balancing technical viability with financial impact. Coming from a motorsport family, my father was a rally driver, my curiosity for how things work has evolved into a structured capability to understand cost drivers, evaluate supplier maturity, and execute sourcing strategies that add real value. I believe in mutual respect, trust, and real human connection as the foundation of professional life. My approach is underpinned by an indestructible work ethic, and over the years, I’ve built a strong and diverse supplier network, not just through business, but through genuine relationships and long-term collaboration. Outside of my corporate roles, I also act as a consultant, helping companies connect with qualified suppliers in metal machining and plastic part sourcing through my established network. I enjoy spotting hidden opportunities and creating value through agility, clarity, and commitment. And all of this aside, I’m just a human. Someone who believes in doing honest work, building trust, and showing up with care and purpose.
