Senior professional with multidisciplinary expertise spanning science, finance, regulatory affairs, and business management in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Raphael holds a Ph.D. from OHSU (USA), completed postdoctoral training at Duke University (USA), earned an MBA in Economics and Strategic Business Management from FGV (Brazil), and graduated from Harvard’s Finance Leadership Program (USA). He began his career leading a research lab as a professor and consulting for U.S. government agencies. Raphael later transitioned to finance, becoming a Partner at Leste Global Investments (LGI), where he managed a portfolio of biotech/pharma equities and derivatives within the hedge fund, alongside venture capital and private equity investments in biotech. In 2015, Raphael founded Galileo Biotech, serving as Chairman and CEO until its acquisition in 2023. Under his leadership, Galileo became Brazil’s first GMP-certified facility authorized to locally develop, manufacture, and commercialize immunochemical diagnostic kits for multiple markets. In 2020, Raphael founded Antharis Therapeutics, where he has led the company through strategic M&As, including the Cassyni Biopharma merger (2022) and GB acquisition (2023). These milestones established GMP capabilities and solidified Antharis as an emerging multinational leader in advancing cutting-edge immunotherapies for cancer. Under Raphael’s leadership, Antharis has built an extensive pipeline of innovative therapies, advancing projects from concept to preclinical development and near clinical readiness. Through pioneering research and cross-disciplinary collaboration, the company is poised to initiate clinical trials in 2026, making significant strides toward addressing unmet oncology needs.
