Working as a system administrator at the European Headquarters of Sybase. Responsible for the infrastructure of the company’s remote satellite offices across Europe. Managing the remote hardware, Windows environment, Active Directory DNS and DHCP. Providing 1st, 2nd and 3th line support for end-users, remote as well on location.

Working for the internal IT department of KPN, formerly known as Getronics. Managing the internal IT infratructure of KPN: Hardware, Active Directory, Reverse ISA & TMG Proxies clusters, VMware and providing 3th line support to end users.

Maintaining the infrastructure of the Truckland Group. Which consist of a virtualized clustered environment build on Hyper-V, System Center products, Fortigate firewalls and HP Procurve switches. Providing second line support to the helpdesk. Some of my daily tasks: Working with Configuration Manager, creating software packages, deploying software updates and creating OSD task sequences for deploying servers and clients. Maintaining the firewalls and site to site connections to thirteen of our smaller offices. Three of these offices are located outside The Netherlands. Managing Hyper-V hosts and clusters with Virtual Machine Manager. Backing up this environment with Data Protection Manager and monitoring all of this with Operation Manager.

Working on various Microsoft cloud projects and activities for different customers of Wortell. My main focus lies on Azure projects, helping customers moving their workloads to Azure. To be able to manage these new workloads in Azure we also implement OMS. Using Insight & Analytics we monitor these new environments and with Automation & Control we automate as much as possible with the use of PowerShell runbooks. With the use of these techniques we try to make the cloud datacenter as intelligent as possible and minimizing manual tasks. Writing PowerShell scripts is one of the things I like the most. I still like to make automated Windows 10 installations and upgrades using Configuration Manager or MDT or doing Office ProPlus deployments.
