I work on making the Internet a safer and more secure place. I am an experienced security researcher with strong networking, coding, and measurement skills, combining drive, curiosity, and academic rigour: – Conducted security measurements over 10+ years, gathering data in terabyte range; provided new insights into the security of deployments on up to 300 million domains, formulated recommendations for improvements, and co-authored Best Practice RFCs. – Designed my own measurement methodologies, which were adopted by other researchers, and implemented and contributed to network security scanners (Go/Python). – Analysed collected data (R, Python, SQL, graph DBs); published and gave talks at top international conferences and for industry. – Conceived, deployed, and tuned passive network monitoring infrastructure using Zeek IDS and provided new insights of the impact of security issues on actual users. – Experienced educator; supervisor of 40+ research and PhD students.
