About
Rajul Mahmud has a strong background in power system analysis, planning, development and operation through his undergraduate and graduate education in Electrical Engineering as well as his experience while working for electric power utility companies, including WAPDA, Duke Energy, Xcel Energy, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), Public Service Electric and Gas company (PSEG) and Exelon Utilities (Exelon). His previous work experience includes working in the transmission planning area and collaborating with stakeholders in developing and driving future long-term electric energy and transmission plans and projects for reliable and resilient bulk electric power systems for electric utilities, in addition to experience in distribution planning, T&G design/engineering, and project management areas. His qualifications include strong experience with power planning software such as PSS/E, TARA, MUST, PSLF, and ASPEN, and he is aware of the evolving electric power industry issues and standards, and has an understanding of electric power market principles and electric power industry strategic issues. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer. Further, he has acquired a sound understanding of business and economics through his MBA along with his professional work. He has also served as Exelon Lead R&D Advisor for industry research organizations CEATI PSPO and EPRI. He has an interest in the development of renewables, DERs, OSW, solar/photovoltaic, battery storage and other evolving electric power system technologies and grid modernization efforts. He has represented Exelon in the Delaware Governor’s Energy Advisory Council’s Grid Modernization working group in developing recommendations for the next 5-years Delaware State Energy Plan. He provides a combination of expertise directly required for electric power systems planning, transmission development, and transmission strategy for a reliable, resilient green and modern electric grid.
