As an intern of programs I worked with a focus on gender justice and gender inequalities in Mexico and Latin America, more specific a focus on women’s economic and political rights. Further, the work implied investigation and systematization of information in order to form a knowledge base. I gained a lot of experience during my internship, especially of their organizational work and their development as a team and organization.

The work done as a mentor of integration targeted the integration of newly arrived boys under the age of 18, that has arrived to Sweden without a family or relatives. The job entailed a great deal of work with integrating and informing the boys of the Swedish culture, the shocks that can be experienced between their culture and the one they encounter in Sweden. Furthermore, as a mentor you have to prepare these boys to live independently as they are going through the process of seeking asylum at Swedish Migration Board.

The nursing assistent employment has required attentive and careful care of individuals in need. This was done by assistens of daily chores and distribution of medicin.

The employment has entailed traditional stock-work, including driving forklifts and handling orders. Further, this employments has required skill in technical and logistical systems.

As a study-coach the task was to assist a girl in her french high school studies. The aim of the study sessions were to develop her basic level of french skills in order to achieve a better grade. The aim was met through 2 intensive hours of assistance a week, and required patience, discipline and positivity.

As an exchange student at Universidad Iberoamericana the studies focused on the hand on the Spanish language and developing the skills with the ambition to learn the language fluently in the near future. On the other hand, the exchange studies focused on the responsibilities, powers, and the limits of power within the Mexican government, as well as understanding the operation and interaction of the institutions of the Mexican State, the central economic, social, and political actors in the Mexican system and understanding the functioning of bureaucracies, accountability, corruption, and the role of judiciaries in politics. Furthermore, the studies discussed an overall view of contemporary Latin American politics and society, as well as current cultural, economic, political, and social issues of Latin America.

The focus of the education lay on global social development in the political, economical and cultural processes. The topic has been dealt with through fundamental courses in democracy, migration, human rights, international law, intercultural encounters and development. Further, within the frame of peace and development studies the focus has been on international, national an local sustainable development, socioeconomic conditions, humans rights, conflict, security and peacebuilding. The education was given in English.
