Heading the M&A function at the Essar Group. Recently ( Q 1 - 2011 )actively involved in succesful acquisition of the Stanlow Refinery in UK from Shell. A protracted and complex transaction, which provided varied experience in various M&A workstreams. Earlier , led the efforts to acquire Algoma Steel a Canadian Steel company for $ 1.7 billion and other transcations include Minnesota Steel acquisition. Oversees a team of 15-17 M&A professsionals and maintains close interactions with bankers , law firms and otehr external advisors. Also looking at selective monetisation and Private Equity relationships.

Was part of the senior management at Lazard India, an affiliate of the International Investment Bank- Lazard. Advised leading global and Indian corporates for their M&A plans and completed some landmark transactions for such clients. Also advised Government of India in a privatisation assignment.
