As a Peer Advocate for Well-Being (PAW) at California State University, East Bay, I work as a student assistant for both the Student Health Center and the Recreation and Wellness Center. In this role, I actively promote the importance of holistic well-being to my fellow students. Through our six key wellness messages, I encourage students to: Make meaningful connections Eat healthier options Take time for themselves Move more daily Express their wants and needs Party smart Pioneers Additionally, I contribute to the marketing efforts of the department, helping to enhance our outreach and engagement with the student body. This role has allowed me to make a positive impact on campus, helping students prioritize their health and well-being.

Conducted multi-project biochemical and analytical research, integrating chromatography, spectroscopy, and protein chemistry techniques. MRI Contrast Agent Development: Designed DNA aptamers for gadolinium complexes (SELEX-based) and validated interactions using UV-Vis and relaxometry, supporting nanoscale imaging research. Polyphenol Oxidase (PPO) Studies: Purified and characterized PPO isoforms from banana and avocado using ÄKTA chromatography (Affinity, IEX, SEC, HIC), SDS-PAGE, HPLC, DSF, and DLS; performed enzyme kinetics to evaluate activity and stability. Forensic Fiber Analysis (ACS Publication): Co-authored a peer-reviewed ACS paper on dyed fiber identification using FTIR and dye-extraction microscopy. GC-MS Forensic & Toxicology Applications: Applied validated GC-MS methods for arson accelerant detection and drug screening in synthetic urine, ensuring chain-of-custody and forensic QA compliance. Enzymatic Browning Review (Published): Synthesized findings across apple, olive, and potato, comparing PPO isoforms, purification strategies, and protease-regulated mechanisms to reveal species-specific browning pathways.

As an Education Trainee, I engaged weekly with hundreds of students, demonstrating key concepts in chemistry, physics, and biology through interactive, hands-on experiments. My role involved simplifying complex scientific ideas, making them accessible and engaging for students. Additionally, I organized educational events that increased students' understanding of scientific concepts by 55%, as reflected in their improved performance in science festivals. This experience honed my ability to communicate scientific knowledge effectively while fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for learning among students.

At ECAD, a hub for creativity and innovation led by Architect Mahendra Parekh (Associate Professor and Director (on a temporary basis, Fall 2008) at Morgan State University USA), I taught primary and secondary grade students, fostering their academic growth through engaging evening sessions. As part of the "Kalbal" initiative, I helped young minds strengthen their foundational knowledge, providing them with the support they needed to excel in their studies. ECAD's focus on experimental regional art and craft, building materials research, and the connection between art, architecture, and nature made it an inspiring environment to teach and learn.

At SICART, I mastered the use of advanced instruments such as FT-NMR and FTIR, gaining valuable expertise in analytical chemistry. My hands-on experience with these sophisticated devices led to a 60% increase in the accuracy and efficiency of chemical analysis processes. This role allowed me to develop a deep understanding of cutting-edge analytical techniques, enhancing my ability to interpret complex data and contribute to research advancements. My time at SICART was instrumental in refining my technical skills and broadening my knowledge of chemical instrumentation.
