Focus areas: Solid-state batteries | Thermal evaporation | 3D printing | Interfaces | Prototyping of experimental setups Research areas: • Basic research of solid-state batteries towards conditions close to operation. Impedance analysis of solid electrolytes, electrodes, protective nanolayers (Au, TiO2) via PVD and ALD at the interface between solid-state electrolytes (Oxide/LLZ(T)O) and Lithium metal anodes, as well as model ASSB cells and thin-film full cells with solid electrolytes and evaporated electrodes (Li, LiCoO2/LiV2O5). • Exploration of in-situ methods to simultaneously measure Electrochemical Impedance (EIS) and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Construction of compatible electrochemical cells with 3D printing and a Proof of Concept for solid/liquid (Pt catalyst/electrolyte) and solid/solid (lithium/solid electrolyte) interfaces to investigate hydrogen production or the degradation due to lithium dendrites, respectively. • Investigation of 3D printed electrodes with high surface area. Maximizing the ratio between surface and volume, electroless nickel-phosphorus plating, and stability tests. Experience and Skills • Extensive experience in impedance and voltammetry measurements (EIS/CV), as well as in the conceptualization and testing of custom prototype setups • Several years of experience in physics and chemistry laboratories, including glovebox work • Group responsible for thermal evaporation (PVD of metals and oxides), pressurized gas cylinders, 3D printing, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) • Software: Origin Labs, SolidWorks, 3D slicer, MATLAB, Microsoft Office
