During my internship at Dindings Poultry Processing Sdn. Bhd., I was responsible for various tasks supporting the plant’s halal compliance and food safety operations. I updated the Daily Birds Survey by compiling data on farm origin, bird count, average size, DOA, condemnations, and defects. I also handled DVS Ante-Mortem & Post-Mortem Reports, recording abnormalities in live and slaughtered birds. I managed and filed essential halal documents including certificates for raw materials, cleaning agents, and packaging. I tracked expiry dates and ensured audit readiness. I updated the Halal Assurance System (HAS) File by gathering SOPs, training records, and process flows from different departments and aligning them with MS1500:2019 requirements. I participated in internal halal audits, verifying documents, inspecting slaughter tools, and observing the slaughter process to ensure proper procedure and hygiene. I supported the QA team in documenting non-compliance issues, product recall readiness, and sanitation schedules. I cross-checked chemical usage logs to ensure only halal-certified substances were used. Additionally, I reviewed halal certificates for raw and packaging materials, prepared awareness posters, translated SOPs between BM and English, and assisted with labeling and storage compliance checks. I communicated with QA, production, and procurement teams to gather and verify documentation, supporting halal integrity across the plant. These tasks enhanced my understanding of halal operations in an industrial food processing setting.
