With over 16 years of experience in graphics systems and video standards, I am currently a Principal Engineer/Manager at Qualcomm. My mission is to advance cutting-edge GPU technologies while fostering collaboration and creativity within a high-performing team. At Qualcomm, I contribute to the development of GPU shader processors, texture GPU blocks, and tools for silicon debug. My work includes GPU shader instruction set modeling, automation of workflows with Python and Perl, and creating GUI tools to improve user experience. Staff and Senior Staff Engineer/manager (Graphics systems)
Member of Qualcomm Graphics Systems team worked on • Post Si Bringup and debug issues. Tool development to ease Silicon debug. Gui tool Development for richer customer experience. Modeling of shader processor and Texture GPU block in C/C++ • Modeling of Shader Core Instruction Set Assembly (ISA). ISA to JIT conversion in C with built-in shader .DLL generation automated. • Developed Cycle Latency checker for dynamic shader execution flow in C/C++ to lessen RTL debug effort before the chip arrives. • Automate any tedious manual work by writing scripts in Perl and Python. • Able to work in tight Deadline and Process driven team.

Senior Engineer (Video Standards)
• Multimedia R&D and Standards group. DSP, Video and Image coding/processing. • Develop new algorithm which are faster and/or better performing in C/C++ for Video codecs. • Contributed many video coding proposals to JVT/VCEG/MPEG. Developed coding technologies for SVC (Scalable Video Coding) and H.265(HEVC) , many of which adopted by the JVT "A Hybrid Video Coder Based on Extended Macroblock Sizes, Improved Interpolation, and Flexible Motion Representation". IEEE Transactions on Circuit and Systems for Video Technology, Vol 20, No. 12, December 2010 Many Patents Granted: few topics are: (1) Method to signal a Macroblock type. (2) Explicit Weights for B-Pictures. (3) Method for ME-Free Elimination or Alteration of Temporal Reference Dependencies in Video Transcoding. (4) Simplified Frame Level RD decision for B-Pictures (5) Vector based Fine Granularity Scalability (6) Improved Macroblock Header Coding for VLC (7) CAVLC Based Fine Granularity Scalability

Intern Software Engineer
Developed algorithm based on video statistics that will consume less battery power while full screen video playback without affecting video quality and thus achieving gain in battery life. Implemented it in C/C++ and ported to NVidia’s core driver.
